So, I love my morning routine. It is constantly evolving. This is one of the main reasons I love going to bed early. Going to bed early ensures a full night of sleep and a lovely long morning.
Getting up at 4:20 AM allows just enough time to get dressed, drink my espresso mixed with protein powder, brush my teeth, let my dogs out and get to the gym before the class starts at 5 AM.
The invigorating group workout is a combination of strength and HIIT movements. The workouts are predetermined and always different. Therefore, I don’t have to think about it or decide what I’m going to to that day. The decision has been made for me. I am able to immerse myself in the workout and the loud music and just be there. My mind is focused on the movement, and I don’t think about anything except what I’m doing in that moment. I feel very present.
Then, when the hour is up, I go home, shower, then take my dogs on a walk with my husband. This is time we use to connect before the day really gets going, and we share what we are up to. I really enjoy this family time together outside, enjoying the sunrise as we walk through our neighborhood. I also use this time to notice and appreciate the beauty around me. Depending on the time of year, the flowers are in bloom or leaves are turning colors.
After the walk, we have breakfast. The same breakfast every day, and it is so good! Egg whites, spinach, salsa and steel oats all mixed together. Yum! Also with vitamins and coffee with 1/2 & 1/2.
My thoughts about my morning routine are that this is the life! I feel peace about having created this life and deliberately chosen in advance how I will be. Then, by creating the habits, my mind is now free from deciding each day. The decision is already made to set myself up for success.
This is the first part of the morning. Stay tuned for the next post, which will be about morning part 2, which includes one household chore, meditation & journaling, stretching & foam rolling.
Do you have a deliberate morning routine that you have chosen? Do you include exercise? Do you include appreciation or family time? How do you feel about the same breakfast every day? How do you feel about the idea of morning routine?
I can help you think about how you want to live your mornings and help you create a plan to accomplish this.
